'Tailored bespoke clothing': Regular folks share the ‘rich person things’ they’d adopt if they made it big

We love to think about what we'd do if we won the lottery. Often it comes down to pretty simple things: clothes, houses, travel. Most of us would just get nicer versions of things we already have. Okay, maybe I'd buy a flamethrower and a hyperrealistic oil painting of my cat, but mostly I'd just get a nicer house, nicer clothes, and go to nicer restaurants. It's hard to let our imaginations run too wild because we know the realities of living within our means. 

But the nice thing about this thread is that they're thinking outside of the box, highlighting the things that you might not think of at first when you think of higher tax brackets. All the hidden things that make rich people's lives that much better than ours. The stuff the Roy family does that they don't even realize everyone else doesn't do.     Guac_is_extra___ • 5d I saw a video recently of a house with a big hidden door that opens up on one wall of their living room and their huge Christmas tree slides in there when it's time to put it away for the year. No undecorating, no boxing it up. Literally 30 seconds and it's gone until next year. Your comment reminded me of that.

Had one lady exchange her $7,000 double wall oven 6 times because the barn door style top oven had doors that weren't perfectly level. I finally discovered the bottom shelf in the wall opening was slightly unlevel, throwing off the doors by a fraction.     whitneywestmoreland 5d ● I was dating a guy, in college, who came from a pretty privileged background. We were having lunch and, when he took a sip of his OJ, he immediately spit it back out into the bottle, pulled my bottle from my hand and said "don't drink it, it's gone bad!" It hadn't gone bad, he had only ever had fresh squeezed OJ before, so Tropicana tasted like rot to him. I could definitely get used to that.

    innocuous_gorilla . 5d Skiing. I'm already totally into it, but I do it in poor person style, never staying at the resort, packing PBJ sandwiches in my pockets, etc. If I was rich I'd be eating at the resorts and staying at their lodging. I'd probably get a gear locker for the season too.

I'd love to be able to donate to charities and homeless shelters and women's shelters. The only thing I'd like more is if they didn't need such generosity in the first place.
